Sunday Night - 11/27
Christian and Luisy had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday filled with leftover turkey and playing outside!
The boys helped mommy re-pot a bunch of plants that we had picked up over the last 6 months that were about to "bite the dust" (so to say). Christian and Luisy helped scoop soil into the new pots and put water into them as well.
The weather has been just beautiful and the boys enjoyed lots of time outside today - and some yesterday too - in grandma and grandpa's back yard! When we went out into grandpa's yard yesterday, Luisy said that he remembered when "I fell into grandpa's pond." The pond has since been filled up with dirt and a nice fountain (birdbath) replaced it!
Today, playing out in our yard, Luisy decided that we'd pretend that the dog kennel (we don't have dogs, remember, so its just empty) was a restaurant - he invited Christian and I in to eat steak... he pretended to cook it on the grill and serve it on pretend plates... So much fun!
This morning when the boys were getting close to naps, Christian was wiped out and he laid down on the floor - Luisy decided that he'd sing him a lullabye - so he sang, "lulabye, and goodnight... go to sleep my little cutie." It was the sweetest!
We hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving!

When this team of horses passed Christian couldn't have enjoyed anything more! He was so interested in all that they were wearing, the men walking alongside them, and the noise that all of their equipment made. He has the biggest smile on his face, and just kept looking at Mommy, checking her reaction!
November 24 - Happy Birthday Titi Lissa!!!
So, lately things have been going very well - if you consider a bout of the flu "well". Luisy got sick on Sunday night (about 10:25 pm) he threw up - poor little man - and then slept fine all night. In the morning he seemed fine - had an appetite, etc. and so we got off to go to school and bam - sick in the truck! YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!! So we wipe him down, changed his clothes (mommy always has extras of everything under the sun), got him settled, and turned around to go home. Mommy stayed home with the boys on Monday, and Daddy stayed home on Tuesday morning. No more vomiting, and everything has been fine since Monday early morning....
Christian, the tough little guy that he is didn't pick it up and seems to be holding his own. This morning he tipped himself over backwards in his booster chair at the kitchen table. Mommy was so scared that she screamed. We think that mommy scared Christian more than the fall. He's fine, though - not even a scratch.
We are enjoying our Thanksgiving, and have been playing together (all four of us) all morning! We watched some of the Thanksgiving Day Parade, and played a lot with toys... Of course, Luisy watched a little bit of the Horsey Movie... Oh boy, we're in for it! He has also been reading one of mommy's horse encyclopedia's - and always wants to see the pictures of the people riding the horses. He tells them to get off so that he can have a turn!
Christian continues to pick up more words every day - and can communicate so many things already! He has also started walking backwards. Today he packed up a little Halloween basket of stuff (a couple of toys, a bottle of juice, etc.) and walked backwards all the way to the front door, carrying the basket, saying "bye!...bye!"
Another really fun thing that Christian has picked up is looking up into the sky when airplanes fly over and pointing at them and yelling, "Jay Jay!" - we love to watch Jay Jay the Jet Plane, and play with our Jay Jay toys... Christian also likes to look at (the) and say Moon! He is the most observant one-year-old that I've ever met.
Last Saturday, we went to the Gilbert Days Parade, and the boys had a great time with Mommy, Nana and Papa. We watched the entire parade from start to finish. Luisy loved mostly all of it - he was dancing in the street when the dance teams came by with their music and pom poms. Christian especially loved the marching bands and really got his little feet moving to the beat as they passed right in front of him!
They had everything from fire trucks, to trash trucks, to people riding their horses, to floats. It was a very fun morning. The boys both fell asleep on the way home after a BIG cup of milk.
Well - we wish everyone a very Happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Nov 15 - Happy Birthday Abuela!
We have been so very busy lately! We got to spend a whole week at home from 11-5 thru 11-11 with Abuela and Titi Lissa who were visiting from New Jersey... We had so much fun we can't even begin to explain - but Titi and Abuela played all of our favorite games, we went to the park, played in the back yard, and watched the "Horse Movie" (Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron) 8 million times!
Titi bought Luisy a tea party set and we've been having daily tea time ever since. Luisy likes to set up all of his animals and serve them each tea - Christian (BabyZilla - a la Godzilla) likes to crash the tea parties by actually walking over the tray with the plates, or grabbing the tea cups or tea pot and pitching it... Luisy has gotten really good about letting him "play along" and picking up the pieces once Christian relents... Luisy actually does the funniest thing - when he sees Christian coming, he hides the toys that he doesn't want Christian to take behind himself! What a smartie!
Christian is talking so much! He says Abula (abuela), ny-ny (night-night), ore (more), etc... And today in the truck when mommy was on the phone with daddy and Christian was trying to tell mommy something (but she obviously wasn't listening) Christian said, "NooooOO Mommy" - Mommy couldn't believe it - she was thinking - OOOOHHHH noooo, here we go again!
Luisy and Christian are doing so great at school - Ms. Gloria and Ms. Dana's house has been just perfect. Both Luisy and Christian are clearly excited to be there when we arrive!
Luisy has started a new trick where he puts a magic spell on us - and loves to turn everyone into animals - he especially likes to turn mommy into a horsey and hear her "neigh"... Whenever mommy neighs, Christian dutifully responds with his own little high-pitched neigh - Its just the cutest!
Well - we don't really get it - but Mommy started a new job - all we know is that Daddy isn't riding in the car with us in the morning and afternoon and that makes us a little sad (mommy has to just perform a little more - songs, jokes, stories, etc.) Daddy is going to try to take the bus once or twice a week so that we can all ride together a little bit! Every day, on the way home, Luisy asks, "is daddy riding in his own car?" So then we talk about our schedule change again - Its actually not too bad - the boys don't have to be in care quite as long - we've cut about an hour out of their day because mommy is working in the area - for the Kids Club program (childcare and early learning centers)... Its nice to be in the area of the boys all day long - but mommy sure misses daddy during the day.
