Monday July 11 - Wednesday July 13, 2005

We're hanging in there! Luisy's days get a little better each day at school - he is trying new things, having fun, and even talks about going to school in the morning! He has new friends and is having fun in the "Big Playroom" now - he was afraid to play in there at first...
Christian's cold is much better - he had such a fever during the weekend - Daddy took him to the doctor on Tuesday morning just to be sure he wasn't hiding an ear infection or anything - and Dr says he's fine!

We've pretty much just been taking care of business this week - get up, get ready for school, sit down and eat breakfast together, drive to school, work, pick up babies, go home, make supper, play, read, sing, bath, sleep... and then do it all again... the routine is starting to stick... we'll see how it progresses!

All in all, a great start to our week!

Luisy's quote of the day, "Christian, are you being widled (wild)?" - Luisy is always checking up on Christian...

Christian's quote of the day, "BBBBbbbbaaaaBB!" - While repeatedly standing up and sitting down in the bath, over and over again... he gives mommy a heart attack in the bathtub!

Luisy and Christian had a good day today - Daddy took them into their school a little later than usual since we (mommy and daddy) had to drive separate today. Luisy had a "good" day at school! When mommy picked him up he said - "I had fun at Ms. Gloria's school today," and then followed it up with, "Mommy pick Luisy up?!"

Christian's little cold is still yucky, so he's going to make a visit to the doctor tomorrow morning. If you want to "meet" our doctor, her website is:

She is fantastic!

...Well, mommy has a paper to write -

Luisy's quote of the day, "Now, you'll never find it! You'll never find it!" - While pretending to be Swiper the Fox (from Dora the Explorer)... hiding a toy from Daddydoodle.

Christian's quote of the day, "Rrrrrrr, ggggrrraaaahhhhrrrrrrr..." - Daddy started it by grunting at Christian - the communication of men... huh.

Saturday - Sunday, July 9-10, 2005

Well.... Christian and Luis had a weekend full of fun and games! We had all of the trucks out - all over the house and worked on building tunnles and bridges for them to go over and under. Luisy just loves his trucks - Christian and really starting to have fun with them too! We have a few that are easy for him to push around - and he actually stands up and pushes them around - walking behind... such a cute sight!

Mommy and Luisy went to the swimming pool (Hamilton Aquatic Center) and met our cousin Chris (visiting from Minnesota) and Auntie Patty. [Christian and Daddy stayed home with a little fever]... Luisy had an awesome time swimming - he actually started JUMPING in - off the side of the pool - going under the water and everything!!! What a sight - Mommy stayed in the pool and "caught" him when he jumped... He did it over, and over, and over, and over, until he was so tired that he could only do it one more time! Then we had a shaved ice and went home!

Tonight (Sunday) we got our things ready for school tomorrow - Luisy wants to bring his lunch (Turkey sandwich and applesauce) and made chocolate pudding. To help with the pudding, Luisy poured the milk into the bowl and helped stir - while Daddy chased Christian around the ENTIRE house - as he was in hot pursuit of the Kitties - poor Kitties, here we go again! You should see Christian GO!! He is amlost running! He was so cute at the end of the night tonight - he was tired, it was almost 8:00 (about 30 minutes after he normall goes to bed) and he was trying to hard to play with toys, walk around, chase the kitties, but he was so tired he kept falling down, laughing, and getting up again! What a doll!!

Luisy's quote of the day, "I can't wait to visit New Jersey." - We were talking about where airplanes fly, and he just came up with that on his own :0)

Christian's quote of the day, "NNNNAAAnannnananaNNNAAA!" - While emptying out a basket of books, one-by-one, onto the floor.

Good Morning! Orange juice anyone? Posted by Picasa

July 5th - 8th, 2005

Luisy and Christian started going to their new daycare this week! Such a nice place for babies to play! The house is big and roomy (six rooms dedicated JUST for childcare!). They have all of Luisy's favorite toys to play with - LOTS of trucks - they even have an indoor climbing structure and slide - which really comes in handy in this summer heat!

Of course, Luisy is having a harder time adjusting to the change than Christian - but we'll give it a couple of weeks and see where we are then! You know, if I were two I'd really rather stay home with mommy than go to school too! Just shows how smart he really is! Christian is truly enjoying the time at school and hasn't shed a tear or showed any signs of separation anxiety or resistance to the changes... he's such an angel.

Our commute to and from school/work have been fantastic. We've been using that time to tell stories, sing songs, and read new books. Luisy and Christian have really enjoyed reading a series of "bug" books that we picked up...

We had a famliy picnic on Thursday night to celebrate our transitions... we had fried chicked (one of Luisy's favorites) and cucumber salad - outside at the "big table" and then we played with the hose and the boys took their bath in the pool (soap and everything). Luisy loved playing outside until the sun went down. Christian enjoyed trying to drink out of the pool - and daddy had fun trying to prevent him from doing it!

Luisy's quote, "Luisy and daddy are playing baskeegal." - While having fun running around outside, playing basketball.

Christian's quote, "EEEhhhhEEEEEE. Bbbblagagagablblaaa." - While riding in the truck, holding a book and flipping through the pages.

Daddy was the MVP today! Luisy and Chrisitian got to spend most of the day with daddy while mommy was taking care of some "chores" - helping at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little bit and then studying for her accounting class for hours. The boys reported that they achieved 100% on the fun-factor-scale with daddy in charge!!! Luisy and Christian went to the grocery store with daddy, ate lunch and enjoyed a charateristic daddy-dance party!

After naps they woke up and played with all of their toys, pushed trucks, read books, and listened to music!!!

By the time mommy got home it was time for supper and baths! The boys were evidently happy and playing when mommy arrived; so mommy gives daddy an A+ for the day! Congratulations, daddy, on a job well-done!

Luisy's quote of the day, "Mommy, this is crazy in here!" - Huh? Who knows what he was talking about? We were sitting a the dinner table... the music was playing and daddy was cooking dinner for him (daddy) and mommy... ?

Christian's quote of the day, "Dadadadadatabla. AAAHHHHHHHHEEEEE!" - Talking to the Girl Kitty right before he pulled our two big handfuls of her nice, soft, long, gray hair.

...Also - A friend of mommy's, Shelley Joy Tellez, wrote a fantastic article about "growing smart children" that explains EXACTLY what goes on here EVERY day!!! Please follow the link to read it! Great job, Shelley!

Mr. Naughty climbs into the swing himself! We won't mention that two seconds after I took this picture he fell out of the swing and banged his cute little head on the metal support bar on the ground - and got a HUGE bump... sorry.... he's still cute as a button though. Posted by Picasa

Luisy at the park - visiting a REAL fire truck! What a day that was! Posted by Picasa

Friday, July 1, 2005

What an exciting day! We started out the day by taking daddydoodle to work downtown and then it was off to the Itty Bitty Beach Party - hosted by the City at one of our favorite swimming pools! The boys had a fantastic time playing in the water; and of course - SWIMMING! Our cousin Landon also joined us with his mom, Katie! We were so excited to see them and all play together! You should see Landon swim... he's two, just like Luisy; but has NO fear of the water! He wears his life vest and jumps right into the pool, goes under the water, and goes on swimming! He's such a star!

After swimming for about 2 hours, we went to the park that is located right ouside of the pool and found a nice table in the shade and had a picnic. We brought our own sandwiches, crackers, and melon. What a nice lunch we had! Luisy and Christian REALLY enjoyed their picnic... They were both asleep in the truck about 10 minutes into our drive home.

After naps were finished, we packed up again and picked up daddydoodle from his office... After the office, we went and visited what will be the boys new "school". It is an in-home daycare that is located about half-way between our house and downtown... it is a beautiful home, with two very nice ladies running the service - they are a mother and daughter team... We'll post pictures once they get started! So - obviously, mommy is going back to work... sigh.
Don't get me wrong, we are all very excited to start a new journey in our lives!

After visiting our new school, we went out to dinner at a fun place. Christian enjoyed trying to eat a really hard bread roll (bought mommy and daddy time to eat their dinner!) and Luis had a quesadilla, fruit and of course, and ice cream sundae. And, as Christian CANNOT be left out of anything, he also enjoyed a large portion of the ice cream! Going out to dinner with two little guys is sometimes like conducting a three-ring circus!

Luis' quote of the day, "Oh, MOM! Did you see that? Did you see that bug?!" - Luis saw a grasshopper outside at the park and was just beside himself with excitement, and maybe even a little fear :0)

Christian's quote of the day, "EEEEEEEEHHHHH!!!!!!!" - Squealed triumphently as he held onto a fire truck that Luisy was trying to take away from him... Christian is really starting to stand his ground!
