Wednesday, June 29th...
Well, today was nice! We went on a shopping spree this morning and Luisy brought along his cart (we'll have to take a picture of him with it - he's so proud). We started out at Office Max and picked up, among other things, a new set of washable markers (more on that later!) From there we went to Barnes & Nobles Books to see if we couldn't find some new books for the boys - the summer reading program has exhauster our supply - I think it might be time for a library card! Luisy got a new Thomas the Train book and a new Blue's Clues book. Christian got a glittery caterpillar and Elmo's Birthday Party... he is in LOVE with Elmo right now - it must be the age, because so was Luisy around this time. From the bookstore we trekked over to Babies R Us and picked up two new DVD's (Teletubbies & Blue's Clues) - getting ready for our long airplane rides... we also got a new carseat cover for Christian - he's been pulling the stuffing off of the underside of the original one and trying to EAT IT!!! help!
After shopping we went home and ate lunch - and took much needed naps. The boys woke up happy and played at the house until it was time to pick up daddy from the "Tiny Tunnel"...
We had a nice dinner together and then it was off to the bath and to bed!
Luis' quote of the day, "Noni, noni, noni bruder... no eating dirt!" - Sometimes instead of saying "no" I say, noni - who knows why? So when Christian started digging in my plants in the library, Luisy thought he'd help out and let his brother know that it wasn't ok...
Christian's quote of the day, "Matabala, was, brrri." - While looking at a book while I changed his diaper. What a great reader he is!

The boys had a fun day today! They got a special treat because they got to go to "Ms. Deb's Daycare" - it is the emergency daycare center that is at Daddy's office! It is the cutest little room - set up for 4 or fewer children. They are there in case an employee's normal daycare arrangement falls through... Mommy had an appointment Tuesday morning, so the boys got to go and play at Ms. Deb's! Luis loves going and it was all he could talk about before they arrived. He also loves that "center" because it is at Daddy's office and he knows it!
Chrisitian enjoyed playing with all of the new toys and showing Ms. Deb how he walks so well! Today he walked all the way across the kitchen - and that is a LONG way to go! When he arrived by the computer he just sat down... what a big man!
Luisy and Christian enjoyed an afternoon of playing inside with toys - its WAY TOO HOT outside to go out in the afternoons... I can't wait until September when it cools down a little bit! It's suppossed to be 112 degrees Wed, Thu... and "down" to 110 Thu and Fri... nice, huh?
Luis quote of the day, "No daddy, NO! NO! NO! NO! I don't want to sleep in the nice bed!!!" - We call Luisy's bed the "nice bed" since he doesn't like to sleep in it - he would prefer to sleep in "Mamma's bed" which is the norm; but hey, we can always aspire to get our bed back!
Christian's quote of the day, "Arahahhara!" - Yelled at Luisy when Christian was in the family room and Luisy was in the library... I think he was saying, Come HERE!
Mommy's quote of the day, "You can only get peed on so many times in a day before it is just gross." - Isn't potty training FUN?

Monday - June 27th
Well, Monday was another phenomenal day! Chrisitian woke up before Luisy, so he got a little alone-time with mommy - we played and read books on the floor in the family room. Luisy woke up just about 6:30 a.m. after one of Chrisitian's yelling and laughing rants. After some cereal, we took daddy to work!
On the way home, as Christian napped, Luisy enjoyed a drive through the airport. I know, you are all jealous - what more could someone ask for than a drive through the nation's 5th busiest airport, which happens to be under construction? Well, in our life, this kind of stuff is fun - since we get to watch the airplanes drive by and get to go under the "tunnels" - overpasses and under the parking structures...
When we got home, Christian woke up and we went outside with our new elephant pool - it is a blow up one with a tail that sprays water (love Target, $7 summer sale). Christian enjoyed trying to get a drink out of the tail all morning - mostly just got sprayed in the face. And Luisy had fun getting in and out of the pool, pushing his dump truck and inspecting the yard.
The boys had a great lunch and naps and played the afternoon away.
Luis' quote of the day, "Christian is being wild, mommy." - strangely enough, Chrisitan was asleep in his carseat...?
Christian's quote of the day, "Dada." - uttered just after daddy got into the truck after work!!!!
Daddy's quote of the day, "Luis, get that bus off of me, we said only drive it on the carpet, do I look like the carpet?"

What a fantastic "Sunday Funday" - That is what we call them around here. Christian and Luis had fun playing around the house all day while mommy did laundry and cleaned up and daddy worked on a project from his office. The boys enjoyed lots of activities: dumping out baskets of toys, building and knocking down towers, emptying bookshelves full of books, and taking handfulls of dirt out of mommy's plants in the library... Sound like fun? It was.
At about 4:30 we all packed up and went to the Aquatic Center that is near our house. Daddy hadn't been to this pool yet - and its the one that we've been visiting weekly - so we decided he better see it! It was a fantastic trip! Luis wore his new "floaty jacket" that we picked up at Target... It fits him so nice, and now we don't have to share with the other kids at the aquatic center... Luis really got the hang of swimming this time! He got the idea that you need to kind of lay on your tummy and kick your legs and move your arms... We all shared a shaved ice... It was a nice afternoon!
Luis' quote of the day, "Oh my gosh! I'm swimming, look at me!" - in the pool
Chrisitian's quote of the day, "malabadamababada," - while looking out the window while riding in the truck.
Mom's quote of the day, "Do NOT put Mr. Potato Head's arm into that applesauce."

Would you be surprised if I told you what a great day we had? It is Saturday, so Daddy doesn't go to work - and that makes Luis really happy! When he realizes that Daddy isn't going to work he always says, "Daddy isn't working today," - Just to be sure I guess!
We all worked in the garage today - tackling the last of the unpacked boxes and deciding how to fit our Christmas decorations in the garage... Luis helped by not making too much of a mess while we were cleaning.... and Christian helped by playing in his playpen while we worked! He is such an easy-going baby.
Grandma and Grandpa visited today too. They arrived as we were working on the garage - so we went indoors and played and cooked brunch. Christian had a fun time "riding" in Grandma's lap and reading books. Luis had fun reading with Grandpa at the same time. Later on, Luis enjoyed a time-out after ramming Grandpa with a toy truck. Fun for everyone!
Around 1:00 Mommy, Grandma, and Grandpa (yes, all three of us) all worked their tails off to get Luis to take a nap (meanwhile, Chrisitian put himself to sleep in his crib)... Huh, the world is a funny place.
To finish up the day, Luis and Daddy went on a Beer Run. Just kidding, they picked up pizza for dinner (and Daddy did get beer for him and mommy). While at the store, Luis said that he didn't want to go home, so daddy suggested that they visit the neighborhood "Gentleman's Club"... Luis replied, "Yes, Daddy!" Did he really know what he was in for? Who ever does?
Luis' quote of the day - After falling off of our half-wall onto a basket of toys, "Ahhh! Don't worry, I'm ok. I get up now."
Christian's quote of the day - While falling asleep in his crib, "bababa, mamamaaaa, balala," - he was reading his Barney book.

Today was another perfect day in the life of Luis and Christian! We woke up around 6:30 a.m. and started playing... Then we tood daddy to work downtown - Christian and Luis love driving through the tunnels downtown - sometimes we even drive through the airport. Luis is completely obsessed with anything trucks, construction, tunnels, etc. and Christian is along for the ride - such an enjoyable companion - he's always up for anything!
We had a visitor today - Our friend Sydney came to play this morning! She is about 1 1/2 years old... Not sure who had more fun with her, Luis or Chrisitian! We played in the house and Luis shared ALL of his toys! It was really amazing! Chrisitian had fun just watching her play, smiling, and laughing. We played outside and dug holes in the dirt, and then sprayed the hose all around and played on the slide and swing. We were all covered in dirt and wet by the end of the morning.
Everyone got clean dry clothes, lunch and then took a nap!
Luis' quote of the day, "I want my baby Sydney back!" - When he got up from his nap and realized, after searching each room of the house that Sydney's parents had come to pick her up.
Christian's quote of the day, "Aba, Aba, Aba, Aba!" - Each time he banged a tin pie pan on the floor - I think he was singing!

We had a great day today! Christian and Luis went to the swimming pool and Luis used a "floaty jacket" - Life vest for the first time today and was very impressed at how he could swim... Christian practiced putting his face in the water - mostly by accident - but had fun, nonethless! We took a long nap today and after our nap went grocery shopping... Luis pushed his tiny cart around the grocery store while Christian threw everything that he could on the floor and wathed mommy pick it all up! Fun for everyone!
Luis' Funny Quote of the day - upon waking up from his nap with Boy Kitty laying next to him, "Dirly [that's what he calls the Boy Kitty], were you sleeping next to me?"
Chritian's Funny Quote of the day - "AAAaaaaaba!" - squealed at the top of his lungs when Luis ran into the room with his toy bus.
